The book, told mostly in the second person simple future conditional (i.e. "If you do this, that will happen."), began with the sentence "Now that you've purchased this book, you should have [amount] dollars left, I recommend you use it to buy a shovel." After that the book was about your ride up an elevator to the top of a building,. Each chapter other than the last was a description of what would happen if you got of on a different floor of the building, taking the form "The elevator rises to the [number]th floor. If it stopped here, if the doors opened, if you got out [things that would happen]. But you don't get out. The doors don't open. The elevator keeps rising." The last chapter begins "The elevator reaches the roof, and stops because it can go no higher. The doors open. You get out." At this point "you" are attacked by giant tomatoes and the book closes with "I hope you bought that shovel."

In my dream, it was creepy as hell that the book knew how much money I had on me after buying it and at the end of the book it was actually me and not the "you" that is the books main character who was under attack by tomatoes, neither to which translates well to the real world, so //All Giant Tomatoes are Killers// might serve best as a book in a story, rather than a book on it's own. Also, the title and climactic tomato attack are obviously derived from //Attack of the Killer Tomatoes// and should probably be changed.
Easy as 1-2-3.

"Failsafe" misread.
Inspired by watching a flattened cardboard box fall, the fallcraft is essentially a down-only elevator powered by air resistance. I can be steered minimally in all horizontal direction by shifting the center of gravity, possibly by requiring the passengers to move.

I picture it as the invention of a civilization living in a very large (maybe quarter mile diameter) vertical cave shaft with smaller caves (possibly artificial in some cases) around the circumference as buildings. Fallcraft would have to be hauled upward, since they lack a source of propulsion, probably making them the exclusive property of the wealthy and a mark of status.

If a perfectly straight tunnel were dug between any two points of equal elevation on Earth and a totally frictionless train were to run through that tunnel, the gravitational pull on the train down to the center of the tunnel would give the train exactly enough inertia to overcome gravity for the trip back up to the other end of the tunnel, and regardless of distance, the time for a one-way trip would be roughly 43 minutes.

This doesn't work out quite so neatly on the actual Earth, where friction can't be completely negated and where locations have different elevations, of course. I do not know whether the trip time would be different on another planet with a different size and/or density, but I suspect so.

On mirrors and what lies beyond them.
So, starting with the premise that mirrors are windows into another world, we can rule out the possibility of a Lewis Carroll-like world where things are drastically different, since looking into a mirror always produces a reversed but otherwise identical image of wherever you are.

Lesser reflections (water, windows, etc) can be assumed to be inferior windows, and the possibility of inferior windows implies the possibility of superior ones as well, namely ones through which it would be possible to enter the other world. With the mirror's glass out of the way, the only thing standing between you and the other side is the other you, who blocks you by matching your actions exactly. Vampires of course, wouldn't have this problem, but that doesn't help the rest of us at all. Though it does imply that becoming a vampire destroys your mirror-self somehow. Or that the destruction of your mirror-self causes you to become a vampire. Other than it being my personal frame of reference, there's no reason to suspect that this is the more real of the two worlds.

But back to the problem of entering the other world. The only way it's possible that I can see is for there to be a difference in your and your reflection's actions. A large dramatic one would be more interesting, but even one as slight as them not pushing against you as hard as you push against them would allow entry by overpowering your double. How, though, to cause that difference?

Sound, obviously, cannot travel through the window, for there has never been a case of anyone hearing their reflection (or perhaps there is no sound on the other side?), eliminating the possibility of verbal communication. Written communication is still possible, though it seems reasonable to assume inhabitants of the mirror world read in the opposite direction, since all of their books are printed that way. The trouble is that no agreement can be reached with your reflection via written instruction, since they give you identical written instructions at the same time, meaning that if you were to tell them, "Move right, I'll come through on the left", they would tell you the same thing, and when they show you their responding, "Alright, I'll go right, you go left", you will have simultaneously proposed the same thing. A demonstration of the parallel synchronized randomness discussed in //The Science of Sleep//. So written communication likewise is a dead end without a difference between you and your mirror-self.

The next step would seem to be an investigation into why those on the other side of the mirror imitate our movements precisely at all times (or, again, why we imiate theirs), but I haven't got the time for it just now.
Putting off the investigation into the cause of the mirror-imageness of mirror-land a bit longer, I'm going to go back to my earlier digression about vampires.

If a vampire picked up and object, that object's reflection would also rise, despite the lack of any visible cause for that motion, implying that when a person becomes a vampire, their reflection becomes a ghost. This suggests that the obliteration of a mirror-body (not it's death, but the total disappearance of it) is equivalent to the obliteration of whatever the difference is between humans and vampires. The immediate thing that springs to mind is the soul, which I hesitated to assume as the reason for it's quick-springing to mind is Whedon, and while he spent a lot of time thinking about vampires, it's reasonable to assume that he just made it all up rather than doing any research into the phenomenon, and thus shouldn't be used as a source, but it does make sense upon further reflection given a few adjustments to the commonly understanding of the properties of vampirism.

To begin, humans are often said to consist of three major pieces: the body, the mind, and the soul. The lines between them aren't especially clear, as the body contains the brain, which is largely synonymous with the mind, and since the mind and soul are both intangible, making it different to draw a line between them, but let's draw some lines (fuzzy, though they may be) for the sake of clarity.

The body refers to all the physical parts of the human, including the brain, which is merely an interface point between the body and the other two pieces. Not all functions of the brain are what is generally thought of as mind, after all (e.g. controlling your heart beat, interpreting incoming light as a picture of your environment). Most of the id likely exists in the brain rather than the mind, since it is still present in zombies, which have neither mind nor soul. Brain damage differs from mind damage in the same way that a radio with a broken antenna plays music poorly without affecting the quality of the broadcast music.

| Purpose:|Allows you to easily rename tags|
| Creator:|SimonBaird|
| Source:|http://simonbaird.com/mptw/#RenameTagsPlugin|
| Version:|1.0.1 (5-Mar-06)|

!Description
If you rename a tiddler/tag that is tagging other tiddlers this plugin will ask you if you want to rename the tag in each tiddler where it is used. This is essential if you use tags and ever want to rename them. To use it, open the tag you want to rename as a tiddler (it's the last option in the tag popup menu), edit it, rename it and click done. You will asked if you want to rename the tag. Click OK to rename the tag in the tiddlers that use it. Click Cancel to not rename the tag.

!Example
Try renaming [[Plugins]] or [[CSS]] on this site.

!History
* 1.0.1 (5-Mar-06) - Added feature to allow renaming of tags without side-effect of creating a tiddler

The Wedge was (in my dream) a low-value currency consisting of gold-colored equilateral triangles of an indeterminate metal roughly the size and thickness of the largest equilateral triangle you could cut from an American penny. It had no markings. A Wedge was actually one sixth of a larger hexagonal coin (think pieces of eight), but none of those seemed to be in circulation anymore for an unknown reason. Perhaps something to do with the devaluing of the Wedge.

There was another higher-valued currency called "The Block" which was the preferred currency of intercity-state trade, but I did not get to see any of these, so I do not know their appearance. I had the impression that a Block was a small metal cube (maybe 3/16 inch to a side), but that seems like it would make transporting large numbers of them awkward.

|Description|Encrypt/Decrypt Tiddlers with a Password key|

!!!!!Usage
<<<
* Tag a tiddler with Encrypt(prompt)
** Consider the 'prompt' something to help you remember the password with. If multiple tiddlers can be encrypted with the same 'prompt' and you will only be asked for the password once.
* Upon save, the Tiddler will be encrypted and the tag replaced with Decrypt(prompt).
** Failure to encrypt (by not entering a password) will leave the tiddler unencrypted and will leave the Encrypt(prompt) tag in place. This means that the next time you save, you will be asked for the password again.
** To have multiple tiddlers use the same password - simply use the same 'prompt'.
** Tiddlers that are encrypted may be tagged 'excludeSearch' as there is no point in searching encrypted data - this is configurable by an option - you still may want to search the titles of encrypted tiddlers
** Tiddlers that are encrypted may be tagged 'excludeLists', as activities that list tiddlers may trigger password prompting when none was desired - this is configurable by an option.
** Automatic removal of excludeLists and excludeSearch tags is performed, if the above two options are set, only if these two tags are the last 2 tags for a tiddler.
** Encrypted tiddlers are stored as displayable hex, to keep things visibly tidy, should you display an encrypted tiddler. There is nothing worse than seeing a pile of gobbledy gook on your screen. Additionally, the encrypted data is easily cut/paste/emailed if displayed in hex form.
* Tiddlers are decrypted on initial display, not when you load the TiddlyWiki
** If you don't display a tiddler, you won't decrypt it.
** Tiddlers will re-encrypt automatically on save.
** Decryption of Tiddlers does not make your TiddlyWiki 'dirty' - you will not be asked to save if you leave the page.
* Errors are reported either by displaying the shadow tiddler DecryptionFailed or displaying the encrypted tiddler contents.
** Empty passwords, on save, will result in the tiddler being saved unencrypted - this should only occur with new tiddlers or with tiddlers who have had their 'prompt' tag changed.
** Encrypted tiddlers know if they are decrypted successfully - failure to decrypt a tiddler will ''not'' lose your data.
** Editing of an encrypted (that has not been unencrypted) tiddler will result in loss of that tiddler as the SHA1 checksums will no longer match, upon decryption. To this end, it is best that you do not check the option.
** To change the password on a Tiddler, change the Encrypt('prompt') tag to a new prompt value, after decrypting the tiddler.
** You can edit the tags of an encrypted tiddler, so long as you do not edit the text.
** To change the password for all tiddlers of a particular prompt, use the {{{<<EncryptionChangePassword ["button text" ["tooltip text" ["prompt string" ["accessKey"]]>}}} macro.
** To decrypt all tiddlers of a particular "prompt string", use the {{{<<EncryptionDecryptAll ["button text" ["tooltip text" ["prompt string" ["accessKey"]]>}}} macro - this will make tiddlers encrypted with "prompt string" searchable - or prompt for all 'prompt strings', if none is supplied.

!!!!!Configuration
<<<
Useful Buttons:
<<EncryptionChangePassword>> - Change passwords of encrypted tiddlers.
<<EncryptionDecryptAll>> - Decrypt ALL tiddlers - enables searching contents of encrypted tiddlers.
<> Show encrypted tiddler contents on decrypt failure
<> - If set, Encrypted Tiddlers are excluded from searching by tagging with excludeSearch. If Clear, excludeSearch is not added and it is also removed from existing Encrypted Tiddlers only if it is the last Tag. Searching of Encrypted Tiddlers is only meaningful for the Title and Tags.
<> - If set, Encrypted Tiddlers are excluded from lists by tagging with excludeLists. If Clear, excludeLists is not added and it is also removed from existing Encrypted Tiddlers only if it is the last Tag. Preventing encrypted tiddlers from appearing in lists effectively hides them.
<> - If unchecked, do not cache passwords. This means you will be prompted for the password every time you display an encrypted tiddler (not forgetting that once they are displayed, they stay decrypted until the next save).

TiddlyWiki is a single-page wiki oriented toward small bits of interlinked content rather than large seperate pages of interlinked content. It's not editable over the web (or rather, the changes can't be saved), which makes it a simple way for me to set up a personal-use-only publicly-viewable wiki. It's freely available from http://tiddlywiki.com.
